Independence from England has long been a dream for many. In 2014 the Scots narrowly voted to remain part of the UK. Then came Brexit the effects of which mean the Union is closer to the breaking point than at any time since 1707.
Scottish seafood suppliers are particularly irritated because many of them are on the brink of collapse. By the time they reached France and Italy they were ruined.
With exports already falling due to Covid-19 the sector is turning more to the domestic market for sales hoping to address the island nation’s peculiar aversion to fish.
