Heavy nutritionally lacking dishes litter the chain’s multi-page menu sometimes masquerading as healthy options. And even if you’re looking for a rich and filling meal you’ll find that these dishes have too many flavors to savor resulting in confusing appetizers. However the chain does have some good options too. If you need some guidance on what to choose for lunch or dinner here are six of the best and six of the worst dishes (in terms of health and taste) on The Cheesecake Factory’s menu.

In the small plates section lies a deliciously light and satisfying salad that should be at the top of your list when dining at The Cheesecake Factory. The Beet & Avocado Salad features a bed of zesty rocket topped with glazed roasted beets supergrain quinoa creamy cool avocado and fresh oranges. The whole thing is drizzled with a honey yoghurt sauce.

The entire plate is just 290 calories with only 12 grams of fat. Much of that fat likely comes from the honey yogurt dressing so if you like you can ask for it on the side and add as much as you like. The salad is a nutritional powerhouse thanks to avocado and beets which offer health benefits like lowering blood pressure and reducing inflammation.
