The dark side of e-waste recycling

E-waste is a dangerous and difficult to manage form of waste. Although much e-waste can be recycled responsibly, many e-waste processors choose instead to ship it overseas to landfills in poorer countries. Remarkably, exporting e-waste is perfectly legal in the United States… but thanks to a nonprofit watchdog, some unscrupulous exporters are still going to jail.
