Along with watermelon fresh corn on the cob is one of the great joys of summer. While I could buy shelled corn which is packaged and sold in the refrigerated section unshelled corn is stacked high and looks fresh in the grocery store these days so that's what I bought.
One tricky thing is that I have always had trouble getting all the silk off when I peel it myself. In addition to the bits of silk that stick to the corn when I am done I have silk all over my counter and floor.
