#The Google Pixel smartphone will monitor heart rate and respiratory rate

Google recently announced that users with the Google Fit app on their Pixel devices will be able to measure their heart rate and breathing rate using the devices' front-facing cameras only. No smartwatch or additional hardware will be required.

The features will be integrated into the Google Fit app starting next month, according to Google. These will initially be available only on Google's Pixel devices, "with plans to expand to more Android devices" over time.
