How to Get Rid of Fruit Flies in the Garden – Pest Control – Making Fruit Fly Traps
It seems to happen overnight. One day my kitchen is fine and the next day it is abuzz with a huge plague of fruit flies. I always look at the bananas on the counter and think they are the culprit.
“No one likes to find a bunch of fruit flies on their overripe bananas” says Matt Rogers CEO and co-founder of Pestie. “But just because you find one fruit fly doesn’t necessarily mean you have an infestation in your kitchen.”
If you see a lot of small pests swimming around your fruit bowl garbage can or sink chances are there’s rotting or overripe fruit or vegetables nearby. First Rogers recommends doing a little insect identification. Determine if your pests are fruit flies drain flies or fungus gnats. The latter two pests require a different approach than fruit flies.
