THREE – BEAN BAKED BEANS – The best baked beans ever
When it comes to baked beans you can go all out and start with dried beans and cook them from scratch (like Boston Baked Beans ) which takes all day. Or you can start with pre-cooked canned beans or pressure-cooked beans which cuts the cooking time down to just over an hour.
This recipe is for canned beans a "quick" version of baked beans using three different types of beans: kidney beans black beans and cannellini beans. My dad adapted this recipe from a recipe in an old issue of Bon Appétit magazine from years ago.
It has a tangy rich flavor from the vinegar molasses and bacon and is a snap to make. A great side dish for pork or steak.
