For me there are few greater pleasures than a stiff dirty martini at the end of a long day. Blue cheese-stuffed olives. Gin. Maybe a twist if I’m feeling bold. Dirty martinis are back with a vengeance and they’re not just for happy hour. The iconic cocktail is making its way onto our plates and we’re not surprised. Now we’re seeing the bold characteristics of a dirty martini pop up in salad dressing chicken pork chops and pasta.
Cocktail-ifying our food is nothing new. Flashback to 2020 me in the midst of the pandemic where the lines between “treat yo” and “this is you” blurred as I transformed my favorite nightcap into a voluptuous upside-down cake the old-fashioned way.
