The family I grew up in belonged to the average Mexican middle-class family: it was mainly women who prepared the food according to recipes that had been known for generations.
From a young age I was captivated by the smells textures and combinations of my grandmother and mother's home-cooked food and I wanted to do the same as they did.
As a young man I hesitated between a veterinarian and a chef but in the end I chose the most creative path. People seek happiness sitting at the table and I wanted to contribute to that happiness.
