Thanksgiving typically follows a tried-and-true menu: turkey and/or ham gravy potatoes dressing or stuffing casseroles and (of course) pies. But when Allrecipes looked at the most searched-for unique Thanksgiving recipes by state it found some surprising preferences as well as some we might have predicted: Minnesota loves wild rice stuffing Texas makes tamales and Georgia has to have sweet potatoes. Here's what your state was craving when we crunched the Thanksgiving numbers.

A licorice biscuit topping sets cobblers apart from chips and crumbles — and makes the dessert a Southern favorite. Paired with sweet potatoes the result is a Thanksgiving-worthy dessert that Alabamians return to again and again.

A smaller breed of chicken the Cornish game hen tastes familiar but stands out as a feast. After all no one can pass up a whole bird on their plate.
