1 liter 95% alcohol (190 proof)
Grate the zest of the lemon making sure to only get the outer part of the peel and avoiding the white part.
Place the lemon peel in a glass bowl and pour alcohol over it. Cover and let it steep at room temperature for about 7 days until it is yellow in color.
