Easy Recipe for Homemade Pecan Caramel Turtle Candy | Candy | The Southern Mountain Kitchen

Surprisingly easy to make at home they require just three common ingredients to create the signature chocolate treat. Double or triple the recipe to have enough to give to family and friends as a holiday treat or as a favor for baby showers or office parties. They’re meant to look rustic so don’t worry about keeping the turtles around or having pecans poking through—that’s the beauty of these treats. Eat them plain or use them to decorate pies cheesecakes cupcakes tarts or ice cream bowls.

Since there are so few ingredients needed each one is very important to the final flavor so use good quality pecans and chocolate. Homemade caramel is always best—leftover caramel from another recipe is great to use here—but using pre-made soft caramels will also make a tasty treat. It’s also the quickest and easiest way to bring these little turtles to life.
