Unable to resolve host Mirrorlist.centos.org invalid baseurl for repository etc/profile & resolv.conf

I received a few queries and understood that there are difficulties configuring Docker when you install behind a proxy server. Basically, for those connected from an enterprise environment, they will have to go through a proxy server for the Docker installation. Usually you will get a Failed to retrieve mirror list error or an invalid base URL for the repository due to the host or proxy being unable to resolve. This is basically because you need to set the proxy server and user authentication on the machine so that the download can go through the proxy server. Follow the steps you see on the screen to resolve this issue.

vi /etc/profile

export HTTP_PROXYhttp://username:password@proxyservername:8080
export HTTPS_PROXYhttp://username:password@proxyservername:8080

export http_proxyhttp://username:password@proxyservername:8080

export https_proxyhttp://username:password@proxyservername:8080

vi /etc/resolv.conf

name server 8.8.8.8
name server 8.8.4.4
