This site isn’t exactly known for shortcuts but every now and then someone on this team shares a tip that not only makes life (and cooking!) a whole lot easier but also just… makes sense. And while we’re in the business of making great food we’re definitely not in the business of gatekeeping. So when our food editor shared what she does every week to make weekday meal prep a breeze we wanted to pass on the knowledge.

Genevieve saves herself a lot of time later by juicing five or six lemons at the beginning of the week. She squeezes enough to have a jar on hand usually a 12-ounce jar of Bonne Maman. The amount of juice you get depends on the size of your lemons though. And while the flavor of the resulting lemon juice lasts for about five days she finds that it never lasts longer than that because she uses it so often.
