Price versus performance is the best value and I've had no problems running it with my Macs.

A Thunderbolt 2 port can transfer data 4 times faster than a USB3 port. And it would be nice to take advantage of it. There is, however, a problem when using adapters for new Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C devices. This video addresses the problem, tells you why it doesn't work out of the box, and shows a solution to this problem.
