In this very brief video I simply demonstrate the connectivity between Android Wear and Google Home. In this short clip, the focus is on back-end connectivity. In this case the Christmas lights are connected to Google Home compatible switches. Compatible switches establish Google Assistant /"listeners/" which essentially adds to an automation routine (ie… turning Christmas lights on/off on schedule). In this clip I show speaking into an Android Wear watch, and the watch is able to turn on Christmas lights. It works at home and "outside the home/". Do you have any idea why this still works when I'm away from home on the local network? Before doing any research, the answer is that Google Home is linked to a profile account (your Gmail account) and that same account is activated on your Android phone. Enabling Google Assistant on your phone (and your Android Wear device) creates the bridge. Android Wear is essentially an extension of your phone allowing you to control home devices from anywhere.
