One of the biggest problems I’ve discovered since starting the Vegan Experience project is that I don’t give up cocktails at the same time I give up meat and cheese. How can that be a problem? Well if you follow my weekend recipes you know that fatty meats and cheese are kind of staples in my regular hangover regimen (exhibits A and B). So what’s a cocktail-loving vegan to do the morning after? How about going back to the roots and eating one of the granddaddy hangover cures: Frito pie.

If I may be so bold as to make a few very broad generalizations here there are two groups of Frito pie lovers in the world: Texans and also EVERYONE ELSE. Is there really anyone who doesn't love Frito pie? Fritos are already the king of packaged fried corn chip snacks with a saltier fattier flavor than any competitor on the market. Doused in savory spicy chili until they're tender but still a little crunchy they're like the lazy drunk guy's version of chilaquiles (and just as delicious).
