Our deliciously crisp and sweet vegan peach pie is a breeze to make and will impress all your non-vegan eaters with how well it rivals butter-based peach pies. If you need a dairy-free and egg-free dessert to treat vegan friends or family or because you don’t eat milk or eggs for personal or dietary reasons then look no further. There’s nothing quite as comforting as the smell of a peach pie and our version made with fresh peaches sugar spices flour and soy milk is simply perfect. You’ll also need to have a dairy-free pie dough on hand either store-bought or homemade. If you have lots of summer peaches this is a great way to use them up in a tasty way but in a pinch you can use frozen peaches or drained unsweetened slices from a can. The pie is easy to make and quick to bake and does need some time to cool and set so plan ahead and let it come to at least a warm temperature before slicing. Serve with vegan vanilla ice cream or whipped coconut cream for a decadent vegan treat.

When buying peaches for this recipe keep in mind that while all peaches are delicious some are better than others when it comes to baking. Most peaches found in the grocery store are clingstone peaches meaning the pit is separated from the flesh making them easier to cut and eat. Clingstone peaches are peaches that have the pit attached to the flesh and are best eaten with your hands allowing you to tear and suck up all the bits around the pit. Yellow or white clingstone peaches are firmer and therefore better for baking. When buying look for unblemished skin with a firm texture that gives a little and has a fragrant smell. Choose organic if possible especially if you eat the skin.

By default our vegan recipe is dairy and egg free but it does contain soy: we use soy milk to brush the top and most ready-made or vegan homemade pie doughs contain soy margarine. If necessary use another plant-based drink of your choice but choose one that is thick like soy such as cashew hazelnut or full fat oat milk.
