Seniors with Low Back Pain: Walk Faster by Doing THIS (New Study)

If you’ve ever suffered from lower back pain you know how debilitating it can be. And you’re not alone. According to 2019 statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 39% of U.S. adults experience back pain and the prevalence increases with age from 28.4% among those ages 18 to 29 to 45.6% among those ages 65 and older. Women are more likely to experience back pain than men at 40.6% versus 37.2% respectively.

And back pain is expensive. According to a 2023 review in BMJ Open the direct medical and indirect costs of low back pain are at least $50 billion a year and more than $100 billion in medical costs lost wages and lost productivity.
