Healthy Watermelon Smoothie Recipe

Our recipe combines sweet watermelon with yogurt milk (or plant-based milk) and maple syrup for a thick and flavorful drink. Watermelons are a great ingredient. Since they are 90 percent water they are low in calories with only 30 in a 100-gram serving. Look for seedless watermelons as they are easier to cut for freezing have no seeds to remove and are much sweeter.

If you want to experiment with our recipe and are wondering which fruits go well together go for tropical flavors like mango pineapple and coconut (flesh or coconut water). Use frozen fruit to thicken the smoothie. Frozen bananas add a lot of texture and go well with watermelon but they can steal the show because they have a very strong flavor. Use a third of the amount of banana as watermelon.
