Do I need to use an Ethernet cable with Air Link? Can I just connect my PC or laptop to WiFi?

Officially Oculus… Yeah, that's right. I'm not going to call them Meta. I can't believe they threw out the biggest/most recognized and subjectively coolest brand names in VR and replaced them with the stupidest name I think I've ever heard. So yeah, back to what I was going to say… Officially, Oculus recommends that you connect your PC to your router using a network cable (aka Ethernet). I imagine it's about minimizing latency between the Quest 2 and your gaming PC to give you, the user, the best experience and deliver the best visuals possible. Not everyone is able to connect their PC or laptop to their home network using a wired connection, but the question naturally arises: can you connect your PC or laptop wirelessly to your home network while using Air Link? This is the question I decided to explore with this video. I purchased an Asus AX3000 PCI-E wireless network adapter for my gaming PC and tested it to see what Air Link performance was like when connecting wirelessly to my home router rather than following Oculus' recommended setup is to use a network cable. My home network supports WiFi 6 (aka Wireless Axe, also known as 802.11ax), so to ensure the best possible results, I made sure the wireless adapter I used for this experiment also supports WiFi 6 because it offers much higher throughput than WiFi 5. I discovered a couple things during this experiment; First, it is possible to use Air Link without connecting your PC to your router with an Ethernet cable. And second, even though it's possible to only use WiFi with Air Link, there's a reason why Oculus recommends using a wired connection and not wireless.
