Durian is often confused with jackfruit because they are both large spiky fruits used in Asian cuisine. The main difference is their size. You can easily tell them apart because jackfruit is much larger. Like jackfruit the outer skin of durian is covered in serrated spines. However the spines on durian are usually much sharper and more pronounced making it more difficult to handle.
