What is a PLC watchdog timer?
A watchdog timer will typically specify how long the programmable logic controller (PLC) should scan for. If this value is exceeded,
the controller will immediately go into STOP mode and an error message will appear in the system information log,
and the error LED on the front of the controller will be on.
The Do-more family of PLCs has hardware and software watchdog timer settings. The monitoring software timeout specifies the maximum time (in milliseconds) it takes for a single scan to run in the controller.
A hardware watchdog timeout occurs when the operating system stops operating for more than 2 seconds and the Do-more processor is put into safe mode.
The Force Watchdog Error (WATCHDOG) statement generates a software or hardware watchdog error condition so that you can verify that emergency stop conditions are correctly handled by the project running in the Do-controller. more.

There are several reasons why we use the BRX Do-More controller. Here are a few.
– Standalone PLC with integrated I/O
– Integrated data logging
– Communication capability – Ethernet port, RS232, RS485, USB – support for protocols such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, ASCII, K-sequence (DirectLOGIC users), custom protocols (ASCII over serial, TCP or UDP over Ethernet)
– Integrated analog input and output
– Integrated motion control
– Fast counters
– Powerful instruction set (video of instructions in software)
– Ability to expand the system with a variety of modules
– Part of the Do-More PLC series uses the same free software. (Do-More Designer)
– Simulator built into the software capable of external communications for testing
