Thai fish sauce is a staple in Thai cuisine along with many Asian dishes. It has a rich translucent reddish-golden brown color and is added liberally to almost all Thai dishes. It is often used as a marinade for fish and meat but also as a seasoning usually mixed with fresh chili peppers and lime juice. If you travel to Thailand you may encounter it on restaurant tables where it is commonly added to meals in the same way that Americans would use salt and pepper.
