Four Easy Tequila Drinks

So you bought a bottle of tequila to make margaritas and now you’re stuck with half a bottle and no idea what to do with it. We’ve all been there and while margaritas are delicious there are plenty of other tasty tequila drink pairings you might be missing. From cocktails that incorporate other alcoholic elements to simple non-alcoholic mixed drinks these are the best things to pair with your tequila.

Tequila is a spirit made from the blue agave plant that grows in Mexico. There are three main types of tequila that are made through the distillation process. Tequila that is distilled and bottled directly is Blanco tequila. Tequila that is distilled and then transferred to an oak barrel where it is aged for at least 60 days is reposado tequila. Tequila that is distilled and then aged in small oak barrels for over a year until it turns an amber color is called Añejo tequila.

Each type of tequila has its own distinct flavor. Blanco tequila can be slightly sweet with citrus and peppery notes. Once aged such as reposado and Añejo tequila can take on a soft and slightly smoky oak flavor.
