Is Pixel 8a better than Pixel 8?
The Pixel 8a is not better than the Pixel 8 in any way except the form factor which is more comfortable as it is smaller and has a better grip. In all other respects, including value for money, the Pixel 8 is better than the Pixel 8a.
Is the Pixel 8a a good phone for the price?
In the US, the Pixel 8a costs $499 while the Pixel 8 is only $50 more, at $549, which makes a lot more sense because it offers a lot more for just $50 more.
In India, however, there are many other smartphones at the same or even lower price with higher performance that could be great options. Phones like iQOO 12 and OnePlus 12R are much better phones to consider. The only advantage the Google Pixel 8a has over it is a better 7-year upgrade cycle, which I find meaningless since most people don't use their phones for more than 4-5 years.
