Most of us lead very busy lives and have to devote a lot of time and energy to our work. We all need to figure out how to fit an effective fitness routine into the limited time we have? The good news is that HIIT appears to be a shortcut to fitness that doesn't take as long as 10,000 steps.
HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give 100% effort through fast, intense exercise sessions, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of workout increases and maintains your heart rate and burns more fat in less time. HIIT increases the body's need for oxygen during exercise, creating a lack of oxygen. Your body compensates by requiring more oxygen during recovery. This effect is called “excess”. Post-exercise oxygen consumption is the main reason why intense exercise is more effective at burning fat than slower, more steady exercise.
