The old SysVInit daemon management system has been around forever and works well. But now it's time to move on to something newer. The new initialization system /"systemd/" for Linux is much more efficient and brings new advantages to system administrators. It was invented at Red Hat and has now spread to most other major distributions, such as Debian, SUSE and Ubuntu.

Yes, there is some controversy over Systemd, but I hope you keep an open mind about it. And I hope you enjoyed this Linux tutorial from the BeginLinux guru!
