Setting up Windows 11 Smart App Control and related registry keys
Smart App Control adds considerable malware protection, even against new and emerging threats,
It blocks malicious or untrustworthy applications.
It can also block potentially unwanted apps, apps that might slow down your device or display unexpected ads, or even offer and install additional software that you didn't want, or even do things that you don't. you didn't expect what this app does.
Smart App Control provides app control to consumers.
It is based on Windows Defender Application Control /"WDAC/" and allows users and businesses to create application control policies.
Smart App Control is now available on a clean install on Windows 11 22H2 or later.
It starts in evaluation mode.
Smart app control will automatically turn off for company-managed devices unless the user turns it on.
Now how it works:
When you try to run the application,
1. Smart App Control will check if the app is safe.
2. If the security service cannot identify and predict the security of the application, the intelligent application will check whether the application has a valid signature.
3. Applications with valid signatures are allowed to run and applications without valid signatures are blocked.
Where are the settings:
All Smart App Control settings are in the app and browser control.
Get started – Search for Smart App Control and select Smart App Control System.
You can set the value to the registry key below to control the behavior of Smart App Control

0 – Disabled
1 – Apply
2 – Evaluate
