Valve has ditched drivers to let you install Windows on Steam Deck, but there are plenty of caveats

Firstly, you cannot dual boot, this will remove SteamOS and anything you have installed. Second, these drivers are only for Windows 10, there is no support for Windows 11 yet and these drivers are not complete, so you don't get audio.

Valve will also not provide official support for running Windows on this device.

The first tests we are seeing show that there are problems. Windows will take up 26 GB of space, which will seriously inconvenience users of the base model, it uses 4.6 GB of RAM at idle, the interface is not at all suitable for use on the Deck and you do not will not get the SteamOS interface. , only Big Picture mode, in addition to having much worse battery life.

Basically, even if some of these issues are fixed in the future, the experience will be subpar, and I'd say it's not worth it just for the few games the Deck doesn't run.
