You may not realize it, but many file types store personal information in their meta tags. Learn how a simple tool built into Vista can remove this information before uploading your photos or documents to a public site.
In fact, this Windows feature DOES NOT remove sensitive information from JPEG images, but it only corrupts the metadata headers in a particular way. You can verify that by opening a result image file with any hex editor – after applying /"Delete properties and personal information/" in Windows Vista or Seven – the Exif data will remain there. To remove it safely, use ExifCleaner from SuperUtils instead: http://www.superutils.com/products/exifcleaner/
