The recipes you'll find here are vegetarian often vegan and written with the home cook in mind. This site has been my online "home base" for almost twenty years. It was originally built on the premise that once you own over 100 cookbooks (raise your hand!) it's time to stop buying and start cooking. This site chronicles a cookbook collection one (vegetarian) recipe at a time. But there's more to the story now that we're a few decades into it here's a little background on me and the site…

It’s a little unclear how it happened but it’s been over a decade on this site without a punch recipe. Punch is a great thing in theory. One of the most communal drinking experiences that everyone scoops out of one bowl it’s brilliant. A good bowl of punch magnetically draws a party closer and becomes the best kind of centerpiece. Quite festive and ready to drink – it’s a shame so many punches go off the rails. It’s also funny that while I have opinions about punch I never have a great answer when friends ask for a favorite punch recipe. So I figured it was just that time of year to come up with one that I’d like to share. I knew I wanted to make a winter punch here but not necessarily a holiday one. Citrusy with a hint of spice completely avoiding the warming spicy angle. I was going for an all-purpose punch – a bowl that could brighten up parties brunches showers and other cheery drinks – something that would be suitable for ringing in the new year. It would pack a punch that wouldn't ruin the drinker if he or she happened to go a few sips too far. I imagined it to be the lightest pink (pink grapefruit?) or soft yellow (grapefruit?) flavor. A little sweet and a little sour danced on the tongue and lit up the eyes… and here we were.
