The recipes you'll find here are vegetarian often vegan and written with the home cook in mind. This site has been my online "home base" for almost twenty years. It was originally built on the premise that once you own over 100 cookbooks (raise your hand!) it's time to stop buying and start cooking. This site chronicles a cookbook collection one (vegetarian) recipe at a time. But there's more to the story now that we're a few decades into it here's a little background on me and the site…

Looking back through my notebook from the past year one of the things I’ve cooked the most is this wonton soup. Like weekly. Top three recipes. What I find remarkable about this recipe is: making wonton soup is not exactly quick or easy. Especially if you spend as much time forming each wonton as I do. But my enthusiasm for slurping up soft flavorful pillows from a spicy miso broth is intense. The wonton soup recipe you see below has become our “house wonton” with a filling of finely crumbled tofu and a bit of cream cheese to top it off. I fill the base with finely chopped kale lemon zest curry powder black pepper and scallions. The broth is always miso with a bit of a kick sometimes served plain other times with added chopped greens and cabbage (like in this version). Little of this is conventional but oh my god do I love it.
